5/23/06Goshen Health System Donates $195,000 to community
Goshen, Ind. – Goshen Health System awarded a total of $195,000 to 22 organizations located in Goshen and the surrounding area yesterday at a luncheon held at The Retreat Conference Center. Every year the GHS Board of Directors allocate a percentage of the previous year’s operational income to be distributed to the Community Benefit Fund (CBF). The CBF is designed to re-invest in the community. This investment is in addition to GHS’s charity care, prevention and education activities supported through its operating budget.
“It is our opportunity to recognize good works of area non-profit organizations and partner with them to meet the needs of our community,” said Joseph Gavan, Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development.
Among the organizations that received funds were The Boys & Girls Club, LaCasa, Center for Healing and Hope, and Children with a Difference.
Goshen Health System is a not-for-profit provider of health care that includes Goshen General Hospital, The Center for Cancer Care, Park Home Medical Equipment, PrimeCare Physician Network, Team:Bariatrics, The Retreat Women’s Health Center and Indiana Lakes Managed Care Organization.
